John Mahkewa is a Tewa/Hopi wisdom keeper, artist, permaculturalist, and the grandson of noted Hopi potter and medicine woman, Grace Chapella. After a death experience 12 years ago, he was awakened to the stories his grandmother told him and the Hopi prophecy. He is known and shares under the title given to him by his uncle/clan grandfather Alberta Yava, Tatas'juanna, The Peacemaker.
Currently, John is building a tree farm for wetland projects throughout the southwest and has been involved in wetland restoration projects along the Colorado River between Parker, AZ and Yuma, AZ.
